I've been so busy the past few weeks with everything, but when I actually try to find something to do I can't find a thing. The babies are here and southern Illinois is kinda boring. So far we have gone to burger king, played at mami V's with Aidan and gone on a lot of drives. Yesterday we headed to Nashville (no, not the home of country music...more like the home of creepy old dudes). I saw an advertisement for a petting zoo and knew the babies would love it. So, after finding an ATM for cash and driving off at the McDonald drive thru because they didn't have any sweet tea, we found the petting zoo! We pulled in to the driveway (uhm, not a parking lot) and examined the ordinary house with no walk way to it. There were all kinds of out buildings but no one to be seen and no "entrance" to the animals. We stared through the fence at the filthy barns and general dirtiness of the zoo. I know it's a working farm but if you're going to charge 5 dollars a head I at least shouldn't have to step over buckets, old chairs, and chunks of rusty metal. Graham really wanted to go play with the camels but I didn't know where to go! Even the front porch was blocked with chairs! We decided to load back up and get on our merry way. As I started buckling graham back in, Bridget started screaming because she didn't get out of the car and Sarah said, "there's a creepy old guy over there!" I was just getting into the car at this time and glanced over to the back of the house. He was looking like he was gunna come after us with the buckets, chairs and rusty metal if we didn't come back...then again he looked like he would come after us if we did come back. He was standing with his arms thrown up in the air like somebody had just cut him off! Needless to say, we kept on going. I felt bad for the babies but they got over it quick.
Until next time...The Magniloquent Mary
