A change of directions.

Husband and I spent a week in Maryland with my sister and her babies. We drove. It was about 800 miles. Now, that is a true adventure! In the Appalachian mountains we discovered fog. Lots of fog. Has anyone seen the Three Caballeros? Well, if you have, you will remember the penguin who cut a hole in the fog. That is what I wanted to do. Traveling on some interstate through Maryland/West Virginia I could see as far as one reflector in front of me. I almost thought my journey was over. The fog was beyond ridiculous. I managed to stick to a speed of about ten miles per hour. That was just plum scary. I have also grown accustomed to the flat non-curvy roads of Florida and Illinois. But we managed to make it out alive!

While we stayed in Maryland, we also visited Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia. In Pennsylvania our adventure found us in Gettysburg. That is one creepy place! It was very interesting and so worth seeing. But, again, it was creepy!

We also went to a creek in the mountains I used to play in when I was very little (I was born in Maryland). This creek is by Camp David! It was a pretty exciting outing. There is also an immaculate and gigantic statue of Mary near the creek. The statue welcomes people to a small sanctuary. That picture was from the sun roof. Sarah parked right under neath of it. I was afraid the car's journey could be over very easily. But the sanctuary is very serene. Until the three year old throws his rubber whale into the giant pool of Holy water. Husband saved it with a stick. G now owns a very blessed whale.
