Damn you, Father Winter.

Yesterday I went to the gym early and came home to 45 degree weather with slightly overcast skies. I decided to clean and do some laundry and then take a nap before starting on some yard work that's been neglected for about 4 years. Cold, but not horrible outside.

I woke up. Went upstairs and opened the door and wanted to scream. SURPRISE! IT'S SNOWING HAMSTERS! And we've got a half an inch of snow on the ground and counting. I just wanted to slap the clouds in their face!

So instead of going outside and digging holes to put rocks in I went inside and held my flip flops and whimpered. It felt like they had canceled Christmas.

I went to my cousins house later in the evening. She just lives a block away now. And it's uphill. We decided if I drank to much I could just sled home. Haha. Tell me that in December and I might think it's funny. Tell me that in ALMOST April and YOU might sled home. And she's the one that calls Carlyle Lake THE BEACH!

After getting home at almost 5 am I just stood in the driveway and looked at the snow. We had about 3 inches. It covered everything! It actually was extremely beautiful. The tree branches, with fresh new lime green leaves poking through the fluffy white snow. The daffodils trying to stay up straight it the weight of the ice. I also found it slightly eerie to see how thoroughly spring had hatched through all the snow. I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of it...could be that I was too drunk. That would make since why I was standing in the driveway at 5 am...

But, of course, this morning, the daffodils are laying on the ground all limp. The pear trees' blooms are kind brown and falling off. The grass is trying to die. At least the snow is gone already.

The snow murdered my sanity. Maybe I'll start calling the lake a beach!

Until next time...The Magniloquent Mary
